ArchiveGrid featured as SAA's "Word of the Week"

#archivegrid @archivists_org #archives

The Society of American Archivists (SAA) is in the process of updating its 2005 "A Glossary of Archival and Records Terminology" and creating a Dictionary of Archives Terminology in 2015. As part this process, SAA's Dictionary Working Group is sending out a weekly "Word of the Week" e-mail to its members and subscribers to solicit feedback on existing definitions as well as suggestions for new terms. Our very own ArchiveGrid is this week's Word of the Week.

ArchiveGrid is a growing collection of over four million archival material descriptions that provides a foundation for OCLC Research collaboration and interactions with the archival community, and also serves as the basis for our experimentation and testing in text mining, data analysis, and discovery system applications and interfaces. ArchiveGrid brings together information about historical documents, personal papers, family histories, and more. With over 1,000 different archival institutions represented, ArchiveGrid helps researchers looking for primary source materials held in archives, libraries, museums and historical societies
