Early bird registration for Regional Print Management symposium ends Friday, 28 February

#regionalprint

OCLC Research, the Committee on Institutional Cooperation (CIC) and The Ohio State University Libraries are hosting this symposium 27-28 March 2014 at the OCLC Conference Center in Dublin, Ohio to broaden community conversation about regional print management strategies. OhioLINK is also proud to support and participate in this regional research collaboration.

Library managers, collection development officers, consortium administrators and others interested in shared print are encouraged to register by Friday, 28 February to take advantage of the reduced registration fee of $100. After Friday, the registration fee increases to $125.

During the symposium, you’ll hear from library leaders who are actively implementing shared print arrangements at a variety of scales, from small consortia to state and region-wide initiatives. Key findings from an OCLC Research and Ohio State University Library analysis of CIC print books will also be shared and used to anchor discussions about the opportunities for cooperative management of monographic collections. This investigation considered academic collections from three different perspectives: as an institutional resource, as a shared consortial resource, and as part of a loosely coordinated larger system of libraries. Findings from the study will be published in a forthcoming report by OCLC Research.

The OCLC Conference Center in Dublin, Ohio is located within easy driving distance of most CIC institutions and many other universities in the Midwest and Northeast. The symposium begins the afternoon of 27 March and adjourns in the early afternoon of 28 March.

See the CIC's Regional Print Management Symposium site for complete details, including the event program, registration, and hotel and travel information.
