Resource endorses the report's recommendation that Government should commit to providing broadband access to all points of learning, including museums and archives, as well as libraries. The BSG's press release on the Broadband Education Report and the full report are available at http://www.broadbanduk.org/news/bsg_press_release_28_04_03.htm Ed MeachenThere are two papers on the Web at www.sun.com that may be of interest to this group. One is "The Digital Campus Primer," and the other is "The Digital Library Toolkit." Both produced this year. The resource chapter at the end of the latter paper is quite extensive and valuable. Another place to go to get some background in the structure of distributed learning and place of content repositories in this process is the Macromedia website www.macromedia.com (http://www.macromedia.com/resources/elearning). There is a paper by Frances Himes (head of higher education at Apple) and Ellen Wagner (head of higher education at Macromedia) on distributed learning that could serve as a primer for the future of this enterprise. I don't have the title right in front of me, but you'll see it on their web site. See link above and text below for more about eduSourceCanada. I welcome more references to good collections, repositories, and referatories! I've been adding them to: http://www.tltgroup.org/resources/Collections/Home.htm FROM eduSourceCanada WEBSITE VIA PAT FENN OF SCT: EduSourceCanada will be a: "...testbed of linked and interoperable learning object repositories across Canada and provide leadership in the ongoing development of the associated tools, systems, protocols, and practices that will support such an infrastructure." "The eduSource project will be based on national and international standards; it will be fully bilingual; it will be accessible to all Canadians, including those with disabilities; and it will share and disseminate its findings with all of Canada. "We are grateful to CANARIE's Learning Program and the contributions of participating eduSource institutions for financial support of this project. Steven W.
