Terminology Services (Metadata Switch)

Goal

This project explored techniques for offering accessible, modular, web-based terminology services.

Project description

As a subproject of the Metadata Switch Project, this project explored techniques for mapping knowledge organization resources, encoding vocabularies using existing and emerging standards, and searching and distributing vocabulary resources via web-based protocols. The project was completed in December 2003.

A successor project, which extends the capabilities of the exploratory project, was started in 2004.
