Identify and Build Consensus Around an Agreed Definition of Data Services Required of and by Library Systems project

Develop a program to design and bring to acceptance a definition of a Library Systems Data Service Layer (an agreement on optimal location of data, data ingest, export and exposure activities of library systems).

Library systems include:

  • Integrated Library Systems (ILS)
  • Electronic Resource Management Systems
  • Electronic repositories
  • Resolvers

The initial focus will be on connecting a discovery environment (e.g. WorldCat, next generation catalogs, Google Scholar) to library system functionality (get availability, etc).
