Tom retired from OCLC Research December 2010.
Tom is involved in and supports the Electronic Theses and Dissertations project, (NDLTD Union Catalog), and the PURL project. He does development support for WorldCat identities. He reports to Chief Scientist Thom Hickey.
In the past at OCLC Tom has participated in ALCME project, the Metadata Switch project, the CORC project and other electronic publishing projects.
Prior to joining OCLC, Tom was a consultant with several communication corporations, and was a principle research scientist at Battelle Memorial Institute.
Tom has an electrical engineering degree from the University of Pittsburgh.
