The AMICO Library(TM)
This activity is now closed. The information on this page is provided for historical purposes only.
In 1997 RLG began working with the Art Museum Image
Consortium (AMICO) to make AMICO members' art images available online
for educational use. RLG supported the 1998 testbed project that
confirmed the demand for such images in teaching and research. RLG was
the sole provider of The AMICO Library™ in its first three
years of operation.
In 2005 the Art Museum Image Consortium disbanded, and
The AMICO Library was discontinued on July 1. RLG reinforced its
commitment to the art and museum communities by forging direct
relationships with most of the former AMICO museums—enabling
us to continue to provide institutions with an equally high-quality
fine arts resource: CAMIO.
