Leveraging the strengths of QuestionPoint membersQuestionPoint members participate in the Global Reference Network by leveraging their strengths for each other. Where one library is weak in a specialty area, another library in the network can fill in for a specific reference question. That favor circulates, and is returned many times over, for the libraries in the network and for their QuestionPoint users. The member profile contains information such as: subject strengths, language strengths, and hours of service-up to 28 fields of data used to route the question. All those attributes are supplied to the member profile. The member profile enables you to specify the level of effort your library can contribute to the Global Reference Network including areas like your hours of operation, number of questions to which you can respond weekly or monthly, etc. You have full control in defining and modifying your participation level in the Global Reference Network. Using this resource, the QuestionPoint software can find a best-match of institutions most likely to be able to answer questions routed into the Network. |
