In OCLC's remit as a not-for-profit library cooperative, much of our work is to generate insight, create impact and drive greater efficiencies for the members we serve. Over the past few months, OCLC have worked with a number of librarians from around the world to better understand the challenges they face currently.
As a result of these conversations, OCLC are releasing a suite of three reports. Entitled, "Meeting the Challenge..." each report in the series focuses on a specific aspect of library workflow and explores the issues facing the modern library in these areas. The reports are intended as a means of not only extending these conversations across the community, but also as a way of helping libraries find new ways to address these issues.
The suite of three reports includes:
Meeting the Challenge: Managing e-Resources - a report on effective management, access and delivery of electronic collections.
Meeting the Challenge: Delivering ROI - a report on the different approaches libraries are taking to strengthen business cases by demonstrating new and diverse returns on their existing investment.
Meeting the Challenge: Creating Impact Through New Forms of Engagement - a report on making library metadata available in new formats on shared platforms – helping enhance discovery and improve access to high quality resources.
