Advance service framework
  • Build on the DLF service framework efforts and the internal OCLC strategy and service framework outcomes to articulate a library framework that can be widely communicated and discussed within relevant communities
  • Investigate the usefulness of the library framework as a starting place for mapping similarities and differences across library, archive, and museum domains
Create new structures and service areas
Build prototypes/software to showcase and demonstrate new service possibilities
  • Develop tools for aggregating and syndicating third party data and/or user-generated content to enhance metadata and help form the recommendation of and foundation for additional services
  • Enhance disclosure at the network level

Gain a better understanding of end-user behaviors, building on use assessments
  • Engage partners in hypothesis formulation and testing hypotheses about their users' preferences for discovering, gathering, organizing, and sharing information
  • Share results of user-based research, identifying what information seekers want, when and how they want it—and the implications for library collections and services
Design a coherent program for user-centered analyses of evolving services
