Polish List
OCLC's heritage in supporting language selectionPolish List was formed to service the same need that the Cooperative of Indic Language Library Authorities (CILLA) has served for 25 years. The editorial program for CILLA requires meetings of language specialists to be held on a quarterly basis, where advice is determined and then given on titles that are suitable for library purchase. CILLA is greatly valued by the library community and guided by its success, comes another service, Polish List, to support another migrant community with similar needs. The introduction of Polish List as part of the CILLA program will give libraries across the UK welcome help in supporting Polish communities with relevant materials. Every quarter a Polish booklist with suggested titles will be made available along with a UKMARC or MARC21 record for uploading into the library's catalogue. Partnering with the UK's largest foreign language booksellerPolish List is possible because of the partnership OCLC has forged with Grant & Cutler Ltd. Grant & Cutler is the UK's largest, foreign-language bookseller and has been supplying books to libraries since 1936. They are particularly experienced in choosing and supplying fiction in Polish, Russian and other Slavic languages and employ native speakers who man years experience in this. The majority of items reviewed will be titles published in Poland but will also include titles published in the UK in Polish.
