In 2008, OLIB achieved another milestone in its evolution, with the launch of OLIB Web. OLIB Web offers a comprehensive range of staff management functionality needed by libraries, but in a web environment. There is no client software to be installed on library PCs - staff just click on the browser in any location, at any time.
OLIB Web can be run with a system deployed at the library site or it can be used in conjunction with OCLC’s secure hosted environment in the UK to provide your library with a fully hosted solution. This development has increased the range of OLIB service models now available, and is proving invaluable to those wishing to sustain their bid for a functionally rich system at a cost within reach of most small to medium-sized libraries.
