OCLC biedt RSS feeds en podcasts met nieuws, evenementen, product updates, systeemwaarschuwingen en onderzoek, met in de toekomst nog meer onderwerpen. U kunt in uw nieuws reader zelfs het laatste nieuws ontvangen en gemakkelijker dan ooit op de hoogte blijven.

OCLC biedt nu podcasts van OCLC evenementen die van belang zijn voor het bibliotheekwezen en de informatiewetenschap. Meer informatie over podcasts vindt u op Yahoo!, Apple of Wikipedia.
De meeste van deze specifieke audioprogramma’s duren een uur of langer en kunnen wel 30 MB of groter zijn.

RSS bronnen
Wat is RSS?
Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is een XML-indeling voor verspreiding van informatie van websites naar desktops. Een nieuws reader toepassing opent de geselecteerde RSS feeds en stuurt uw favoriete informatiebronnen naar uw nieuws reader. Er zijn allerlei nieuws reader toepassingen beschikbaar, waaronder freeware, shareware en browser opties.
Zo voegt u een feed toe
Als u al een RSS reader hebt ingesteld, kiest u een feed door met de rechtermuisknop op het pictogram "XML" te klikken, Vervolgens selecteert u "Copy Shortcut" (Snelkoppeling kopiëren) (Internet Explorer) of "Copy Link Location" (Locatie van link kopiëren) (Firefox) en plakt u de locatie van de feed in het veld voor het RSS adres of de URL in de reader. Ook kunt u het pictogram XML slepen en neerzetten in het veld voor het RSS adres/de URL. Mogelijk moet u ook op een link als "subscribe" (abonneren) klikken om het abonneerproces te voltooien.
