Project Compass National Convening offers opportunity for library staff to share best practices

Library staff members representing 45 states and the District of Columbia met in Washington, D.C., April 25–26, for the Project Compass National Convening, an opportunity for 215 participants in the project to share ideas in support of public libraries’ efforts to meet the urgent and growing needs of communities impacted by the economic downturn.

OCLC Global Council elects Loretta Parham and Jennifer Younger to serve on the OCLC Board of Trustees

OCLC Global Council member delegates elected two librarians to serve on the OCLC Board of Trustees: Loretta Parham, CEO and Director of the Atlanta University Center Robert W. Woodruff Library, and Jennifer Younger, Executive Director, Catholic Research Resources Alliance. Each will serve a four-year term beginning with the next OCLC Board meeting in November.

OCLC Global and Regional Councils announce election results

Anne Prestamo, Associate Dean for Collection and Technology Services, Claud D. Kniffen Professor of Library Service & Education, Oklahoma State University, University Libraries (Stillwater, Oklahoma, USA), has been elected Vice President/President-Elect of OCLC Global Council. Her term as Vice President will commence on July 1, 2012, followed by a one-year term as President of Global Council beginning July 1, 2013.
