ILL Analysis available in WorldCat Collection Analysis
WorldCat Collection Analysis now contains an ILL analysis component. This enhancement uses WorldCat Resource Sharing data and is available (at no additional cost) for individual subscribers of the WorldCat Collection Analysis service.
The ILL analysis also includes ILLiad transactions that go through WorldCat Resource Sharing. The new ILL analysis component gives a library the ability to:
- compare borrowing requests over time to identify acquisition priorities
- compare borrowing requests based on age, subject, serial and nonserial items
- analyze what your library borrows—items that supplement your collection and
- analyze the items your library is lending—which reveals how your collection is used.
Initially, WorldCat Collection Analysis will use ILL data from July 2003 to the present; eventually that will grow to include five years of ILL data.
As part of this project a new Data to Analyze screen was added. Libraries see the new screen when they select the Collection Analysis tab in the FirstSearch staff interface. Libraries are then able to select the analysis that they wish to use. This screen is in addition to the Data to Analyze drop-down list that is available within WorldCat Collection Analysis.

Create ILL Analysis
Individual subscribers can create both Borrowing and Lending analyses through the Administrative module. To create the ILL analysis, logon to the administrative module, navigate to the Collection Analysis Tab and select ILL Analysis

From the ILL Analyses screen add "My Library as Borrower" and/or "My Library as Lender"

The My Library as Lender and My Library as Borrower analysis will become available within two weeks.
My Library As Borrower analysis
Libraries can analyze their borrowing requests based on the Date of the Request, the number of times the same item has been requested (Request Frequency), and the cost of the request (Request Cost)

My Library As Lender analysis
Libraries can analyze their lending requests based on the Date of the Request, and the number of times the same item was loaned (Request Frequency).
