Join the Developer Network for the OCLC API Mashathon at VALA 2010
There’s still space available for the OCLC API Mashathon on 8 Feb 2010 as part of the VALA 2010 conference Boot Camp sessions in Melbourne, Australia.
The OCLC API Mashathon is a free, day-long event and still has a few more slots still open for attendees. As with any WorldCat Mashathon, there will be t-shirts, USBs with temporary WorldCat Search API WSkeys, food and most of all, lots of great discussions and hands-on examples of what you can build with OCLC Web Services. Plan to join us on Monday, 8 February 2010 from 9 am to 5:30 pm.
At the OCLC API Mashathon, you’ll learn more about the APIs and Web Services available from OCLC and other places. Plus, you’ll get some "starter fuel" with sample code to ignite your creative ideas about how you might use them in your library or organization.
Roy Tennant of OCLC Research and longtime Code4Lib participant will kick off the session. OCLC staff will also be available for questions and breakout facilitation. Ideas, outcomes and code from the Mashathon, together with a participants list, will be shared during and after the event for others to download and build on.
Sign up for the OCLC API Mashathon, session A of the VALAtech Boot Camp sessions, after you've signed up for the VALA conference.
The event is free but spaces are limited. Bring your laptop, cords and curiosity! Note there will be blog posts to the Developer Network blog, tweets from @oclcdevnet and videos available during and after the session.
