WorldCat.org algorithm change for catalog links

The algorithm on WorldCat.org that determines what local online catalog, or OPAC, link should be used first has recently been changed. The OCLC number is now prioritized ahead of the ISBN, if there is an OCLC number available.

The algorithm on WorldCat.org that determines what local online catalog, or OPAC, link should be used first has recently been changed. The OCLC number is now prioritized ahead of the ISBN, if there is an OCLC number available.

Once you remove the OCLC number link, the change will be visible 24 hours later on WorldCat.org.

Note: the updated Policies Directory does not take the online catalog links from the Registry.

Check your Online Catalog listings in the WorldCat Registry, to make sure your listings are correct on WorldCat.org.
