Abstract

Description, guidelines, and examples for each WorldCat search index, including fields and subfields indexed. Lists fields and subfields indexed in tag order. Provides index check lists, one in alphabetical order, the other grouped by the kind of data indexed. Describes how to construct searches and how to combine and qualify them. For users of OCLC Connexion, CatExpress, and WorldCat in FirstSearch and Resource Sharing.

May 2010 OCLC-MARC Update 2010 indexing changes

Revised throughout based on Indexing Changes in TB 258, OCLC-MARC Format Update 2010.

Added an alphabetized list of index names linked to descriptions at the top of section 2, "WorldCat index descriptions."
