Electronic journals available in FirstSearch

Through FirstSearch, your library can subscribe to the more than 5,000 academic and professional titles from 70 publishers available electronically on OCLC’s Electronic Collections Online. (About 3,900 of these journals are also available on a pay-per-use basis, in which you are charged a fee for each article retrieval.) Electronic Collections Online helps your users find journal-based information more quickly, while it helps your library reduce the total cost of acquiring, circulating, managing, and storing serials collections.

One-stop shopping for journal subscriptions

You subscribe (via OCLC or your preferred agent) to only those eJournal titles you wish to carry. Or you may purchase articles from journals to which your library does not yet subscribe using the pay-per-use option. Journal titles span a number of academic disciplines, with service growth aimed at providing breadth and depth of coverage in numerous topic areas.

Your collection, always available

Users can access your journal collection nearly 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through FirstSearch, performing searches and browsing by journal, by issue, or by topic area. They can search and browse article citations for all journals available through the service, and retrieve abstracts and full-text articles for the journals in your collection.

Electronic Collections Online also gives you archiving benefits. Even if you decide to cancel your subscription to a particular journal, your users will still have access to the journal content you had available under the subscription.
