What you can do

Customize and localize

There are lots of ways that librarians can—and should—reach out to the people who help fund their activities. Talk to them.

Download and customize the PDF poster and hand it out at your next budget review cycle. Forward out to as many people and Web sites as possible. Share your own small business success story, so OCLC can highlight it on the national stage.

Even if you don't have speaking engagements coming up, you can always hang the poster in your library and watch the discussions start to happen!

How to make this PDF your own:

  1. Click the Basic image at right to view the high-resolution PDF.
  2. Do a "File > Save as" from your Adobe Reader window to your local computer.
  3. Open up the file in a photographic or PDF editor, such as Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Acrobat Professional.
  4. Insert your library's name and logo in the white space provided (see the Customized image).

Tips:

  • Use vector graphics (such as an .eps) for your library's logo. We sized it at approzimately 100 x 100 pixels.
  • Select a neutral typeface for your library's name. We used Meta font for our sample.
  • See a sample customized poster (PDF).
  • Adobe offers free tryouts of many products for 30 days.

Let us know if you need additional assistance—and we'd love to hear how you've used the posters and what the discussion outcomes have been.
