Cataloging options

All OCLC Language Sets include OCLC MARC records for each title, including the following:

  • Entering a Library of Congress (LC) Classification or Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) call number and Cutter
  • Copying call numbers to any field and adding constant data notes to your records
  • Nonfiction records that contain up to three Library of Congress subject headings (LCSH) and Bilindex subject headings for Spanish
  • Adding your choice of cutter if your library uses the Dewey Decimal Classification system.  You can choose to have a Cutter Four-Figure number, a Cutter-Sanborn Four-Figure number, or a text Cutter. Language Sets also provides fiction and biography call numbers in the format of your choice. 
  • Non-Latin script for Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Russian and Arabic records is included (display is dependent on local system configuration).
