Group catalog

Your group catalog will be created from records already cataloged in WorldCat by your member libraries. Group catalogs leverage the investment your libraries have made with their cataloging efforts. For libraries not currently cataloging with OCLC, we provide convenient batchloading of records into the group catalog.

OCLC can get you up and running with a group catalog quickly, since many library groups already have thousands of holdings in WorldCat. Rollout is fast because every library that uses WorldCat on FirstSearch already has the necessary infrastructure in place.

The Florida Group Catalog allows users to search by library type or by region, such as libraries in Southwest Florida.

With your group catalog, your users can search across all libraries locally, group-wide, statewide or regionally across several states—or even all of WorldCat.

In the results list, each record shows how many libraries in your group own the item.

From the results list and with a single click, your library user can access a list of these libraries.

For location, local call number, and item availability (shelf status), the records in your group catalog can link directly to each library's local system using OCLC control number or ISBN/ISSN.
