Planning the timing for your transition

As you can see from the diagram above, there are two primary dates to keep in mind:

February 2013: Beta testing begins
We invite you to become a beta participant if the functionality of the pre-release service meets your primary discovery needs. Learn more about when your library’s move would be most successful for your transition, and then register your interest in becoming a beta participant.

July 2013: Open migration begins
All current libraries that use FirstSearch are encouraged to move to the new experience after July 2013. Learn how to prepare for your migration.

Since June of 2012, a FirstSearch Transition Advisory Group has met regularly to ensure the new experience will meet the needs of member libraries and their users.
