Briefing on library, archive and museum collaboration in London on 15 September

In April 2008, OCLC co-hosted an Executive Briefing on the subject of "The Digital Library" with CILIP (England's Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals) in London.

OCLC has decided to repeat the formula, this year fielding a packed program of speakers, assembled by OCLC Research, on the subject of library, archive and museum collaboration.

What should attendees expect from the day?

Libraries, archives and museums share an overlapping set of functions. Fulfilling these functions in collaboration rather than isolation creates a win-win for users and institutions. The day will provide a forum for meeting with peers across these three heritage sectors, to share experiences and provide valuable insight that will, we hope, assist you in your own cross-sectoral initiatives.

As part of this program, you'll hear about the motivations and strategies of institutions that have started converging their LAMs around a shared vision of seamless access.

The briefing will also feature a discussion with service organisations striving to help LAMs be more efficient by working together.

We hope you can join us in exploring the possibilities for bringing LAM collaboration to your institution!
