Rick Lugg, Executive Director, OCLC Sustainable Collection Services, and two colleagues will trace the path to and away from vendor-driven approval plans in favor of the still-emerging user-driven path for collection development and preview what's coming in the years ahead.

"Libraries and the University Research Enterprise: An International Perspective"

Panelists from La Trobe University in Australia and Syracuse University will share how their libraries are partnering with other campus stakeholders to provide knowledge and expertise that are essential for connecting relevant applications, information, and metadata within Research Information Management (RIM) systems.

Andy Breeding, Consulting Software Engineer, OCLC Sustainable Collection Services, and three colleagues from Wayne State University will discuss one of the many possible uses of the data currently in various ILL databases that can be used to make data-driven collection management decisions.

This interactive panel discussion will focus on the successes that four librarians have had cooperatively using WorldCat knowledge base collections to share previously unavailable records with the library community.

“Streamlining Access to Content in a One-Click World: RA21 pilots balance research productivity and user privacy”

This interactive panel discussion, which includes Don Hamparian, OCLC Senior Product Manager, will feature updates on identity and access management. Panelists will explore how accessibility, privacy, and security ae being addressed through several multi-stakeholder pilot projects.
