Annsofie Oscarsson

Annsofie Oscarsson serves as Library Director of Mälardalen University Library Sweden,  a position that she holds since 2006. Prior to that she was Head of User Services at Umeå University Library.

Her major professional interest and expertise is within Reference Services and she was one of the first advocates and implementers of "Roving Reference" in Sweden, a model that brought inspirational ideas to many libraries on transforming user services. 

Annsofie has been active within IFLA for several years and was the founder of the Reference and Information Services Section of which she became its first chair.  Among her national commitments should be mentioned her assignments as chair of the Committee on Reference Work 1992-2001 and as board member of the Swedish Library Association 2001-2003.

Her academic career is  based on foreign languages, especially Spanish. During the last years she has been focusing on leadership issues and serves currently on the board of library leaders of the Association of Swedish Higher Education.
