| Change password |
Although passwords have no expiration limit, it is recommended that they be changed periodically in the FirstSearch administrative module to increase security. When you change the statistics password or your administrative password, it takes a day to process the new password for the usage statistics service. Use the previous statistics password or administrative password to access usage statistics until the new one takes effect. [Top] |

The Low Search Notification screen in the administrative module lets you request that FirstSearch send an e-mail notice when it is time to order more searches. The Account Information screen in the administrative module contains information to help you manage your FirstSearch account. If you have a per-search account, the screen contains the number of remaining searches and the expiration date of the account. If you have a subscription account, the screen contains the expiration date of the account. If you have a hybrid account, the screen contains both kinds of information. If you turn on per-article purchase, the screen contains the amounts budgeted and spent for per-article purchase for the current month. [Top] |
An Export button appears on the top left of each report screen. Clicking the button pops up a File Download dialogue box with the options of Open, Save, Cancel, and More Info.
Clicking Open will open the file in Microsoft® Excel. From there you can organize the data to fit your needs. To save the file, click File, Save or Save As, then select the desired directory/folder. Make sure the file type is Microsoft Excel Workbook (*.xls) before saving. In some circumstances, the Text Import wizard will display because the file is actually a tab delimited text file. When saving, be sure to select the correct file type extension.
An Email button appears at the top right of each report screen. Clicking the button takes you to the Email screen where you can choose to send the report to one or more designated email address(es).
The Email button can also be used to set up an automatic email feature that will send your designated reports to the email address(es) that you specify on a monthly basis.
