Dawson Books joins WorldCat Cataloguing Partners
OCLC are pleased to announce that Dawson Books, one of the world’s principal academic and professional library suppliers have agreed to be a part of OCLC’s WorldCat Cataloging Partners service.
Dawson Books join a fast growing list of high profile materials vendors that work collaboratively with OCLC to reduce the cost of cataloging for libraries.
WorldCat Cataloging Partners delivers OCLC MARC records that match the materials ordered through participating vendor partners and sets library holdings automatically in WorldCat.
For libraries that purchase materials through Dawson Books, this means that OCLC MARC records will be provided with any new items that have been ordered. These will be delivered before the items arrive at the library, with the library’s holding symbol automatically set in WorldCat. OCLC MARC records saves time and money by putting materials into circulation sooner.
Some of the vendors in the WorldCat Cataloging Partners Program specialise in non-English and non-book materials, including e-books. Others provide materials for special audiences—for researchers or children.
