CONTENTdm Featured Collections: July 2012

Organizations worldwide are using CONTENTdm Digital Collection Management Software to create thousands of outstanding digital collections and to provide easy access to their unique holdings.

This month, four collections from the CONTENTdm Collection of Collections are featured on the OCLC Web site. The featured collections for July are Commonwealth Times, the Percival Bailey Brain Specimens Collection, the Route 66 Oral History Collection and Theatrical Scene & Costume Design.


Commonwealth Times

Virginia Commonwealth University

For over forty years, the Commonwealth Times has served as the student newspaper of Virginia Commonwealth University, documenting the history and culture of VCU and Richmond. This digital collection spans the years 1969 to the present.


Percival Bailey Brain Specimens Collection

University of Illinois at Chicago

Percival Bailey (1892-1973) was the prime mover and major stimulating force in clinical neurological investigations and advances at the University of Illinois at Chicago (1939-1951). This collection of plastic-embedded normal and pathological brain specimens was processed under his direction.


Route 66 Oral History Collection

Missouri State University

This digital collection includes a selection of oral histories collected by the Route 66 Association of Missouri on the history of U.S. Route 66, including businesses, economic changes, personalities, and noteworthy experiences.


Theatrical Scene & Costume Design

University of Calgary

The collection features a selection of costume and scene designs created for a variety of operas, operettas, stage plays, ballets, and films that were produced in Europe and North America. The designs date back to the mid-nineteenth century and include 62 designers. The physical collection is housed in Special Collections, Libraries and Cultural Resources at the University of Calgary.
