Capture, manage and provide access to born-digital, web‑based content.
Collect and manage transient web content
Web-based content, from single documents to entire websites, is highly transient and at risk of being lost, yet often falls directly within your library's collecting scope. With OCLC's Web Harvester, you can capture and manage web content as part of your cataloging and digital content management workflows.
Seamlessly integrate harvesting into your cataloging workflow
Web Harvester allows you to harvest web content using the Connexion® client as part of your normal workflow. During the cataloging process, simply harvest, review and add the content to your collections.
Enhance discovery of your web-based content
Once you've added harvested content to your CONTENTdm® collection, users around the world will be able to discover it through your CONTENTdm website as well as through WorldCat.org™ and WorldCat® Discovery. Each harvested item added to CONTENTdm using the Web Harvester is associated with its WorldCat record via a persistent URL based on the OCLC number of the WorldCat record.
