OCLC on the road...Three not to be missed UK events
The OCLC events calendar is filling up as we head into spring, with three key events taking place in the South, Midlands and North of the UK in March and April.
On March 7th OCLC representatives will be at CILIP’s Library Management Systems Showcase in London, followed by the Jisc Digital Festival in Birmingham on March 11th and 12th and then at UKSG’s 37th Annual Conference in Harrogate from April 14th to 16th.
JISC’s Annual Conference returns after a two year hiatus and OCLC are excited to be on hand at stand 22 in the exhibition area to welcome back delegates and discuss our solutions to enhance library workflows, student learning and the research experience. The event has a festival theme and will showcase and celebrate the very best in UK digital talent by bringing together experts and providers from across the sector to share ideas and innovations.
In the following month, OCLC will be at UKSG’s conference in Harrogate’s International Centre. With almost 1000 delegates expected at the show – many from Northern Europe and Scandinavia - It is expected that this year’s conference will be UKSG’s biggest yet.
As part of our presence at the event, OCLC will host an exciting information session on Monday 14th April, entitled “The power of sharing linked data: Giving the Web what it wants.” In the session, Richard Wallis, semantic Web and linked data thought leader, will look at how the library community can capitalize on current developments to ensure that resources are visible in the emerging Web of data, significantly enhancing their discoverability.
