Tammi Spayde, OCLC Vice President for Human Resources, named HR ‘Executive of the Year’

DUBLIN, Ohio, USA, 3 August 2012—Tammi Spayde, OCLC Vice President, Human Resources, was named “Executive of the Year” during the HR Excellence Awards 2012 event held August 2 at the Franklin Park Conservatory & Botanical Gardens in Columbus, Ohio.

The HR Excellence Awards: Achievements in Human Resources event, hosted by Columbus C.E.O. magazine, was held to recognize Central Ohio's best and brightest HR professionals as well as organizations that are setting trends and establishing best practices in the field.

Ms. Spayde was named Executive of the Year in the midsize organization category. OCLC is a nonprofit, membership, computer library service and research organization that serves more than 72,000 libraries in 170 countries.

"Under Tammi's leadership, HR has worked closely with managers and staff to make OCLC an ideal place to work for all employees," said Jay Jordan, OCLC President and CEO. "She has implemented an HR program at OCLC that is closely aligned with the organization’s mission and strategic directions. Tammi's achievements at OCLC also point to the evolving role of the HR executive and the profession in general. Ms. Spayde came to OCLC in 2006. In 2012, for the seventh consecutive year, OCLC was named one of ComputerWorld’s "Best Places to Work in Information Technology." Also in 2012, for the fourth consecutive year, OCLC was named among the "Best Employers in Ohio" in surveys conducted by the Best Companies Group in conjunction with the Ohio Society of Human Resource Management State Council. OCLC was also honored with the 2011 Alfred P. Sloan Award for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibility.
