Cooperative Collection Management Trust (CCMT) Pilot

The Cooperative Collection Management Trust (CCMT) is a group of institutions connected by the need to reduce the costs and footprint associated with physical storage and management of print materials while maintaining access to the content. OCLC is leading a pilot program that seeks to address these needs across a variety of institutions in North America.

The pilot consists of 22 academic and research institutions and is expected to end in the summer of 2008. Participants will evaluate service concepts that should help libraries to more effectively preserve and provide access to their print collections. These service concepts will be tested during the pilot:

  • Registry of Committed Print Materials
  • Cooperative Print Preservation Policies
  • Cooperative Print Access Policies
  • Preservation and Weeding Recommendation Services
  • Resource Sharing of Committed Print Materials

Following a successful pilot program, OCLC hopes to determine the requirements for a self-sustaining cooperative collection management service. For more information about the CCMT, please contact David Millikin at 614-764-6078 or david_millikin@oclc.org.
