"On behalf of the OCLC membership, I want to thank Dave Lauer for his contributions and dedicated service to the cooperative," said Mr. Alford. "Dave is among the most sought-after board members in the region for good reason. His experience, insight and sound judgment in financial matters have helped guide the cooperative for the past 12 years, and helped us to plan for our shared future. We're grateful for his many contributions to OCLC."

The OCLC Board of Trustees is made up of 16 members; according to the Board's bylaws, the number of trustees may range from 13 to 17. Six are elected by Global Council, one is the President and CEO, and the rest are elected by the Board itself. Ten of the 16 trustees currently serving on the OCLC Board of Trustees are librarians.
