Dalia L. Corkrum

Dalia Corkrum was elected as a representative of the America's Regional Council to Global Council in 2010. Her extensive experience with OCLC and regional academic library consortia have contributed to her passionate commitment to global library collaboration.
Dalia currently serves as the library director for Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington. Over the last seven years she has lead the library's transition into the digital age, including developing an institutional repository, building campus awareness of copyright issues and promoting open access publishing. From 1988-2005 she served as the library director at Saint Martin's University where she had programmatic and supervisory responsibilities for the construction of a Michael Graves-designed library. Earlier career positions included Head of Technical Services at both Tacoma (WA) and St. Charles (IL) Public Libraries and cataloging opportunities at Aurora University, Air Products & Chemicals and the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
Service to the profession has been a career-long value, witnessed by extensive leadership positions within the American Library Association, the Association for College & Research Libraries, the Library Leadership & Management Association and the Northwest Association of Private Colleges & Universities. Recently she was honored to serve as Chair of the Orbis Cascade Alliance.
Dalia holds a bachelor's degree in art history from the University of Washington and an M.S. in Library Science from Drexel University.
