Anne  Van Camp

Anne Van Camp is the director of the Smithsonian Institution Archives.

From 1996 until her appointment as the director of the Smithsonian Institution Archives, Van Camp served as manager of the member programs at the Research Libraries Group Inc., where she planned, designed and implemented collaborative programs and projects to improve access to research resources to the 150 member institutions of the RLG. From 1989 to 1996, she was the director of Archives at the Hoover Institution on War, Revolution, and Peace at Stanford University. Van Camp also served as the vice president for Information Services at the Chase Manhattan Corp. in New York from 1979 to 1989.

Van Camp earned her bachelor’s (1973) and master’s degrees (1977) from the University of Cincinnati.
