Document delivery from the Bavarian State Library (GEBAY)

The Bavarian State Library (OCLC symbol GEBAY) and ImageWare have partnered to provide a fast, easy way for WorldCat Resource Sharing and ILLiad users worldwide to print documents they purchase from the Bavarian State Library.  The new option, MyBib eL®, is a platform that supports adherence to the European copyright act by enabling borrowing libraries to print a single copy of requested documents.

Resources in the Bavarian State Library are identified in WorldCat with the OCLC symbol GEBAY.  When Interlibrary Loan librarians locate a GEBAY document they wish to purchase, they can initiate the request through WorldCat Resource Sharing or ILLiad.  To request print access for a document requested from GEBAY, borrowing library staff should enter “MyBib eL” in the “Ship via:” field of their interlibrary loan request. Libraries that request documents from GEBAY and register for printing via MyBib eL® receive email notification when the document is available for printing. In order to comply with European copyright, documents cannot be viewed online or downloaded.
