Electronic Collections Online : Archiving solution

Archiving solution

OCLC's electronic journal archives do more than save you the cost of managing a print collection. OCLC has negotiated with publishers to secure robust archival rights to journal content, thus ensuring that your library will have ongoing access to the journals it subscribes to through Electronic Collections Online. And your library retains the right to access the issues of journals you have paid for—even if you discontinue your subscriptions to those journals.

Ensuring continued access

OCLC has taken a number of steps to ensure that your library will have ongoing access to the journals it subscribes to through Electronic Collections Online. Find out about the access rights we've secured for us—and for you.

Your subscription profile

As part of our archiving solution for Electronic Collections Online, OCLC maintains a list of the journals you subscribe to through Electronic Collections Online, along with the subscription start and end date for each, in your library's subscription profile. This information is linked to your access account. When your users ask to view the full text or abstracts for articles they have located online, OCLC authorizes access based on the entries in your subscription profile.
