Course description

 This two-day course from the Serials Cataloging Cooperative Training Program (SCCTP) provides the basic principles of serials cataloging for original and copy cataloging for print and electronic serials. The course focus on the elements contained in the CONSER core record, including appropriate MARC 21 tagging, as well as problem-solving and decision-making relative to serials cataloging. All materials are based on the CONSER Editing Guide and the CONSER Cataloging Manual. The content was revised to reflect changes in the 2004 update to the AACR2.
