The instructor focuses on identifying the elements and activities which define and establish a brand in the context of library and information services. The workshop provides an overview of branding in a small group setting, setting the stage for discussions regarding attendee branding situations and questions.

You will learn how visual and written communications work together to form perceptions and memories which determine how people perceive and remember your library's services and products. You will learn about common branding concepts and the vocabulary used to express them. You will see examples and hear about successful library branding strategies, and discover how your library brand image can be managed.

- Concepts. How does branding work and what's involved. How is a library brand defined?
- Image. What are the roles or perception, brand identity, positioning, brand personality. How do you manage them?
- Brand communications. Visual and verbal examples across the branding spectrum
- Building an information services brand. What are the considerations and opportunities? What can be the impact on products & services, and daily work activities?
