Engaging Teens Conference
|
Course description
Join OCLC Eastern and SOLINET for the Engaging Teens Conference 2008.
This first-ever two-day conference on teen programming in libraries for librarians, educators and staff who work with teens. Some of our nationally-recognized speakers include Michele Gorman, Cathy De Rosa (VP for the Americas and Global Vice President for Marketing for OCLC) and the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS). Michele will give a workshop the first day entitled "This Ain't Your Mama's Library! Technology, Radical Trust, and the Role of Social Networking for Teens in Today's 21st Century Library". You will also find out about grant funding for teen programming, advocacy and continuing education from IMLS and get an update on OCLC's advocacy project with the Gates Foundation. But most of all, this is a chance for anyone who are committed to working with teens to come together, network and learn about strategies, trends and resources to connect and inspire today's youth.
Continental Breakfast will be served each day. Lunch will be provided on the first day.
