Course description

Join us for a look into Rock's Backpages, the online rock music journalism database.

A representative from Rock's Backpages will demonstrate the value that this resource can provide to your users. The database currently has over twelve thousand articles, which feature over two thousand artists and range from 500-word album (or concert) reviews to 10,000-word interviews and features. These full text articles are fully searchable by artist, date, genre, keyword etc. and a sophisticated 'advanced search' option is available for your users as well. Written by over three hundred of the biggest names in rock journalism, the articles are taken from the widest possible range of publications in the US and UK: from Creem and Trouser Press to Rolling Stone, and from New Musical Express and Melody Maker to Mojo. Additionally there are now over 100exclusive audio interviews with major artists available on the site.
