OCLC Western is pleased to present the fourth annual OCLC Western Digital Forum on August 14-15, 2008 in Tacoma, Washington, at the Hotel Murano. This year’s national forum will focus on Making Digitization Count: Assessment and Evaluation Practices.
The forum will feature experts from the archival, museum and library communities who will discuss current projects to create and automate evaluation and assessment tasks for digital collections. The program will also explore how evaluation and assessment methods inform decision making for digital collections. Presentations will highlight national projects of significance relating to evaluation and assessment of digital collection users, 21st Century learners and model practices for digital program assessment.
OCLC Eastern understands the struggle to meet the continued demand for online information resources, while maintaining the integrity of a valuable physical collection. No matter where you are in the digital collection lifecycle—planning, developing, growing or maintaining—our staff is ready to help.
You may also have the privilege of stewarding rare or historically-significant items as part of your special collections—maps, photographs, documents, artifacts—and be considering the level at which you need to preserve and capture these items in digital form.
We offer consulting services and training courses designed and developed by OCLC Eastern staff and local experts. Contact us and start a conversation about your digitization and preservation needs.
