OCLC Eastern Advisory Council
The OCLC Eastern Advisory Council is an eight-member body that functions as a sounding board for OCLC Eastern. Advisory Council members function a lot like OCLC Members Council delegates—but with a regional focus. The Advisory Council provides advice on issues that affect the membership as a whole, as well as feedback on issues specific to different library types.
A sounding board for members
The Advisory Council meets at least twice a year, typically in spring and autumn. We get together and share perspectives on trends in our libraries.
Richard Murphy, Director of Prince William Public Library System, (former Advisory Council member) once remarked that, “the Advisory Council has been given an important role to play in the strategic development of OCLC Eastern services which are meaningful and effective for our member libraries.”
The Advisory Council discusses relevant topics and provides critical knowledge for smart decision-making across the organization.
