When I browse the Relative Index for "soccer," the first item on the browse screen shows Sobolev spaces. Why?

There are six browse indexes in WebDewey: Dewey Numbers (with Captions); Relative Index; Relative Index (KWIC); LCSH; LCSH (KWIC); and LCSH (Editorially Mapped). Abridged WebDewey contains those same indexes, plus Sears Subject Headings. Browsing any of these indexes means you simply view the index at some point (x) in the organized list (e.g., in ascending numerical order for the Dewey Numbers (with Captions) index and in ascending alphabetic order for all other indexes--except KWIC). The first term in the browse view is shown as an x-1 entity--in other words, in context of the queried browse term. This is why when you browse 'soccer,' the first item on the top of the browse screen shows the previous (x-1) adjacent entity in the list. Currently, the previous alphabetic entity appearing in the Relative Index before soccer is Sobolev spaces. When you retrieve the previous adjacent entity, it helps ensure that you browse exactly the part of the index you intended: it adds context to your browse.
