It’s been a busy month for the WorldShare Platform team, and we’re excited to let you know about the enhancements now available for two existing WorldShare APIs. There are more enhancements we're working on, so stay tuned for more. Here’s a quick run-down:
WorldShare License Manager API
Even while the WorldShare License Manager API is still in beta, we’ve added write functionality to it. This means you as a developer can now create, update and delete licenses and license templates. Note that the WorldShare License Manager API provides access to your specific institution’s license information, but global license templates.
WorldShare Acquisitions API
A number of people have been working with the WMS Acquisitions API in the sandbox environment, and we noticed that the invoicing portion of the acquisitions workflow could still use a little love. So we added the ability to update, delete, pay and revoke payment on invoices through the API.
If you have additional questions on these recent enhancements or ideas about what would be most helpful for you for future enhancements, please let us know.
As a side note, we were at the Charleston conference last week with Bohyun Kim, Digital Access Librarian at Florida International University Medical Library. She and Kathryn Harnish, senior product manager for the OCLC WorldShare Platform, presented a week ago Friday, 9 Nov on “Geek Out: Adding Coding Skills to Your Professional Repertoire.” Attendees learned how to get started in the programming world and where to find additional resources for support: the OCLC Developer Network, of course!
The OCLC Developer Network supports the use of OCLC Web Services—a set of tools and APIs that expose data and services for WorldCat and our member libraries and partner institutions or companies. learn more »
