Going to VALA? Join us at the OCLC API Mashathon

VALA That's right. If you're heading to VALA in Melbourne, Australia and haven't signed up for the VALAtech Boot Camp Sessions, there's still 2 weeks left to submit your application. If you've been hearing about all the fun WorldCat Mashathons happening all over, and wishing there was one in your part of the world...now there is (well, a condensed version)! The OCLC API Mashathon has a few more slots still open for people to join us. As always, there will be t-shirts, USBs with temporary WorldCat Search API WSkeys, food and most of all, lots of great discussions and hands-on examples of what you can build with OCLC Web Services. Join us on Monday, 8 February 2010 from 9 am to 5:30 pm. Roy, Don and Bruce will all be there to help you learn more about the APIs and Web Services available from OCLC and other places, as well as provide some "starter fuel" with sample code to ignite some great ideas about how you might use them in your library or organisation. Sign up for the OCLC API Mashathon, session A of the VALAtech Boot Camp sessions, after you've signed up for the VALA conference. It's totally free but spaces are limited. Bring your laptop, cords and curiosity! (We will be posting, tweeting, and videoing--we hope--so if you can't attend in person, you can always follow along virtually)
