TAI CHI Webinar tomorrow on SEO for Institutional Repositories

Our OCLC Research colleagues host an amazing set of Webinars, called TAI CHI which has nothing to do with martial arts or yoga. Other than the fact that the webinars almost always stretch my brain in new directions and remind me how awesome it is to have such a thoughtful, lively community of thinkers around us. The next one coming up is tomorrow, check it out:

Introduction to OpenSocial Webinar recording now available

If you missed yesterday's Webinar with an Introduction to OpenSocial, you're in luck.

Introduction to OpenSocial Webinar next week

Now that we're all contemplating a new year, take some time to brush up on one of the technologies that powers the WorldShare Platform--OpenSocial. SciVerse Developer Network also uses OpenSocial, and this Webinar will introduce you to the fundamentals.

Upcoming webinar on WorldCat Digital Collection Gateway

In celebration of Open Access Week [October 24-30, 2011], OCLC is hosting a webinar on the WorldCat Digital Collection Gateway. This tool provides libraries with a way to share the metadata of their unique digital content to OCLC’s WorldCat; making your collections are more visible and discoverable by end users who search WorldCat.org, WorldCat Local and WorldCat Local "quick start", as well as Google, Yahoo! and other popular Web sites. User are able to easily click through to local library systems to access the digital item and view it immediately on their screen.

Introduction to mobile apps Webinar

Here's a Webinar sponsored by MLNC that came across our desks recently. It caught our eye because we're all about apps right now with platform activities ramping up. While this particular Webinar sounds like it might be helpful to send your less-technically-inclined colleagues to, you could also plan to attend yourself, just to see what apps someone else thinks are the best.

Introduction to Web Services Webinar scheduled for Thursday, July 28

Heard people talk about "using APIs and Web Services" and not quite sure what they were talking about? Or more likely--been talking about Web Services to your colleagues or manager/director and gotten blank looks?

Join Karen Coombs of the OCLC Developer Network as she demystifies the topic. Send your fellow staff members, to help them understand what you do.

If you're also the EZproxy point person, but would like to free up some time this summer...
