Welcome Andrea, our new community manager

Not too long ago, Karen explained that we were growing here at Developer Network--not only with all the new services being made available through the Platform, but also with people and staff to make things happen. I am happy to announce that we have filled both positions and are excited to get even more things cooking for you. So with that, I want to introduce Andrea (pronounced Ann-drea as opposed to Ahn-drea), who can tell you about herself, in her own words:

EZproxy version 5.6 released today

Good news for EZproxy admins! A new version was released today with lots of bug fixes and a few new features to boot. Here's the recap from the official announcement that went out:

Enhancements for OCLC Web services set for 20 May 2012

The planned install this weekend has a number of enhancements designed to make your life better, as a developer. There's an App for That! at ER&L right now

Just in case you're hanging out in Austin (or virtually) at ER&L--and wondering what to do--head on over to Salon A/B to hear Andrea Schurr from the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga and our own Kathryn Harnish share the new apps they've built and talk about the WorldShare Platform.

Here's the information:

Check out presentations and information from our panel at CIL!

Last month I had the pleasure of participating on a panel with Jason Griffey from University of Tennessee Chattanooga and Eliot Polak from Norwich University on Plugin and Play Apps. We talked about how the WorldShare Platform can enable libraries to build and share cool custom apps with one another. Jason talked provided an intro to the concepts of platforms and their power.
