Syntax

The syntax required to utilize the OpenURL Gateway in OpenURL links is very simple: Substitute the base URL within the OpenURL link with the base URL of the OpenURL Gateway, as shown below.

< Resolver Base URL >?< Item Details >

becomes this:

< http://worldcatlibraries.org/registry/gateway >?< Item Details >

This is an example of a typical OpenURL link hard-coded to the resolver operated by the OhioLink library consortium (http://olinks.ohiolink.edu/olinks.php):
